He is registered with the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association/ Half Andalusian Registry.Holds the USEF horse of the year award, International Super Model of Horses Award and many National Championships Titles in Saddle Seat, Halter, Driving, Performance, Youth Riding, Pleasure etc. Virgil is extremely special in so many ways and is truly a once in a lifetime horse. He is an absolute dream horse for anyone or any family looking to do any discipline. He is kind, gentle, athletic, talented and is incredibly easy in the eye! He has taken to everything new that we have thrown at him and loved it since joining our team. With his current training he would excel at low level dressage, jumping , a low level cow horse, reining, showing, halter, trail competition, working equitation, eventing etc. He is so versatile, he could go anywhere and anyway and excel. Virgil has done just about everything. Virgil will spin on a dime, has worked cows, started on the barrel pattern, knows his flying lead changes, side passes, opens gates, has a one hand neck rein, rides bridleless and bareback, works cows … the list goes on and on. While in Texas he has been trail ridden through many different terrains and he has been ridden by all different ages and levels of riders. We used him for all aspects of ranch work including, branding, gathering calves and cows and he even dragged calves to the fire. Since coming to TX he has been used in our lesson program for all ages and all levels of riders. He’s our go to horse every time!! Virgil is absolutely beginner and child safe yet athletic and versatile for the most professional of riders. He will go through water, cross over bridges and obstacles and does great on the busy roads. The list goes on and on, the possibilities are endless with this boy. He has three amazingly smooth gaits, he rides English or Western and moves beautifully off your seat and leg pressure and has a soft mouth. He will go slow and steady with a smooth jog, or you can easily ask him to extend out for an awesome extended trot. He has a smooth canter and a fantastic lead change. He has been started over fences, loves learning Dressage and has excelled at both since day one. Virgil is a true gentleman both on the ground or under tack and he loves the personal attention he gets from the kids and adults. He is an easy keeper, he will stall board or turn him out. He can be left for an extended period of time and when you bring him in he will be just as safe and as easy as he was when you left him regardless of the amount of time that has passed.
