Richie” is a 15.2 hand 6 year old registered APHA gelding, he is very heavy built with substance and bone for days. Richie has a super nice foundation in the arena that will allow him to be a great all around horse for both western and english events. He is an absolutely fantastic trail horse who is happy to ride alone or in a group with a slack rein and not a care in the world! I’ve had him over logs, through water, up and down steep grades, cars driving by, deer and other game crossing etc and nothing bothers him. Richie will take the lead or gladly follow along in the back and is very safe if horses ride up behind him with no bite or kick. Richie stands tied on cross ties,single tie or ground ties and he has also been hobble broke. We have done obstacle trail courses with him and he will do all the obstacles with ease from walking on moving bridges to teeter totters, water boxes, cowboy curtains and so on. In the arena he rides direct in a snaffle or rides around one hand in a finished bit and off seat/leg, Richie has a nice jog and rocking horse lope, takes both leads, started on turning on haunches, will side pass a pole, backs up with ease and has a huge stop. I have also taken him to sorting practice where he had to push, track and hold cows. He’s been started over fences and absolutely loves it! This horse could easily do hunter classes and would enjoy hunter paces and fox hunting. Richie has an in your pocket personality and is a very easy keeper, comes up to you in the field, stands quiet for the vet and farrier and is very good to bathe and clip. Loads and hauls great. Up to dates on all vet work and is barefoot and sound with no limitations, vices or bumps/blemishes.
